Ansdell action

By Sam Heaney

Micky Mellon welcomed his first team squad back to their training base in Ansdell.
There was a positive vibe in the air as the players prepared themselves for a tough session ahead. The new signings mixed in straight away with their new teammates.
Micky Mellon was keen to get started after the break.
“It’s great to be back for pre-season training. I’ve lost count how many I’ve been through as a player and manager but it remains a great part of the calendar. The vast majority of lads have reported back in good shape but there is plenty of hard work in front of us.”
The squad looked happy to regroup with each other and looked focused. There was not a pair of football boots in sight because the first session back can only mean one thing – fitness.
Anthony Barry was in amongst the players as he continues his return from the injury he suffered at the start of last season.
