Goodall winning recall

By Sam Heaney

Fleetwood Town defender, Alan Goodall, showed yet another solid performance as Town battled to come away with a crucial 2-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers on Friday night.

It was the left-backs return-game after being left out the squad for the mid-week triumph against Grimsby Town.

‘I’m delighted to be back in the squad, it was a very tough game and I thought the lads were brilliant. Despite being out-run in the first half, we went in at half time and sorted ourselves out and in the second half we were miles better.’

‘You have to give Kidderminster credit for the first half because they were on top of us. We just dug-in and once we settled we deserved the win in the second half.’

Fleetwood have shown a lot of team spirit this season, grinding out results when at times things have been tough.

‘On and off the pitch the lads are unbelievable, I don’t think I have ever been to a club where everyone is so close together! It’s just brilliant.’

There were 105 travelling Cods that made the journey from the Fylde-Coast.

‘On a Friday night, when everyone has been working all day, then make the effort to come down and support the lads, It’s brilliant!’

‘There’s 8 games to go now and they are really tough games so we have to be concentrating on every match we play from now, to the end of the season and hopefully we will lift the trophy at the end of it.’

Alan Goodall has made 25 appearances for Town this season after being a late transfer due to the injury of Junior Brown in the pre-season friendly’s.
